Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Suing Over Split Rumors

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt aren't taking these break-up rumors lying down - they are taking legal action. The couple have filed suit against Britain's News of the World for the article they wrote, which falsely claimed they had split and sparked the world-wide media frenzy.
"The News of the World has failed to meet our clients' reasonable demands for a retraction of and apology for these false and intrusive allegations which have now been widely republished by mainstream news outlets," their London-based lawyer, Keith Schilling, said in a statement
News of the World was claiming that the two met with divorce lawyer Sorrell Trope, but the attorney said today:
"I have had no contact from…Angelina Jolie and/or Brad Pitt," he said. "I have never met…your clients or had any involvement with either of them. The foregoing is true with respect to all other members of this firm."
I'm a little surprised at the lawsuit simply because these types of rumors are floating around every week. Maybe it's normally just too hard to track down where a rumor originated from? Hopefully this will help them put these rumors to rest for a while.

No it doesn't prove anything. They may just want all the press to stop with the negativity. I think Angie and Brad will have a tough time in press. The press gave them some leeway in the past because of Angies moms death, but it's been 3 years now, so thats long past. They gave them some leeway because of their humanitarianism, but now we know many hollywood stars are also humanitarian. If these two don't break up, the press will sure as hell make life miserable for them. Angie and Brad seem to rub people the wrong way. People may have liked Brad in the past, but not since he hooked up with Angie.

I didn't believe the rumors in the first place. All couples have there ups and downs and little spats. Anyone who has ever been in a long term relationship knows that at times you have differences or get on each others nerves. It doesn't mean that you are going to split up. How childish is that if everytime you don't get your way it's splitsville? These reporters need to grow up. And "please" can we move on from the Brad and Jennifer getting back together storylines. It's been 5 years! Boring.....

I think Brad can't leave Angie just yet, she is too fragile and his kids will suffer the repercussions of the split. But when the time is right, he will leave her. He must feel like a trapped lab rat. He brought this on himself, he chose someone emotionally immature. I'm sure he also knows he can't get whomever he wants anymore. After Angie and 6 children, he's not so appealing anymore, and his lack of intelligence for rushing into it all is not bright.

mmkay, funny comments here today.. i can see where they're coming from; false rumours are unfortunately a part of being a celeb, and i think it's quite naive to think it would ever be otherwise, in the end it would be really hard to draw the line where freedom of speech etc ends and a slander or whatever begins, but sometimes you just get to the point where enough is enough. I think it doesn't make it suspicious that they haven't done anything this drastic before now, it's maybe bc it has gotten these really big proportions that they feel like their privacy, honor etc has been "hurt".

Angelina and Brad saying they don't read tabloids doesn't mean they don't know what some of the rumors are. They hear it from tv, radio, internet, from family, friends, and the paps. I never heard them say they don't know how to use the internet. If they did say it, it was probably a joke. When it comes to Brad and Angelina people take things so literally. They are probably suing now because the rumor started with a British tab. It's much easier to sue outside of USA. That's why so many celebrities sue British tabloids and rarely American tabloids like Star, In Touch, etc. Also for some reason this rumor made the mainstream press. If the rumor didn't go pass the tabloids, it probably would have been dismissed. But when CNN, CBS, etc start reporting it, things are out of control.

I don't dislike Brangelina, but I do believe half of what I read. A lot of the stories in the tabloids turn out to be true. I don't think these two can separate just yet because the majority of the public seems to dislike Angie, and I don't think she can tolerate criticism on her own. I think Brad is hanging in there for the sake of their children's moms well being. After all she did have issues when she was younger, and they may surface again without the right support. When he feels it is safe for her and his kids he will leave her.
