This is something you don’t hear too many actors say! ‘Lost’ star Matthew Fox says he enjoys living in rural areas, with no neighbors or traffic. He grew up on a farm in Wyoming with his parents and two brothers.
“We didn’t have neighbors or anything like that. I think I did feel isolated, but in a good way. That’s remained very important to me. I really need those wide open spaces and feelings of loneliness, I can hear myself better there.
“When I’m in Los Angeles I just can’t f***ing wait to get out of it. The traffic and everything just drives me nuts.”
That explains why Matthew is moving his wife and two children to Oregon once ‘Lost’ is over. Personally, if I lived in a rural area, I’d miss the neighbors but not the traffic. What about you: are you a rural person, an urban one, or a suburbanite?
