Robert Pattinson Nervous About Sex Scenes With Uma Thurman

Starring in the 'Twilight' franchise may have made Robert Pattinson a huge star, but it apparently doesn't make him invulnerable to nerves on-set :) His movie with Uma Thurman, 'Bel Ami,' calls for some explicit sex scenes, but Robert said they were more disturbing than exciting.

"The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing. Her character Madeleine kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal. There are a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I'm asking quite a lot of myself, and with lots of different people as well."

Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas also star in the movie, and Robert's character may sleep with them, too. Robert's character is an ambitious man who sleeps his way to the top, as I understand it.

After he's done filming 'Bel Ami,' Robert will be on hold while he waits to hear when 'Breaking Dawn' will start filming.

"It will be strange but it will be great just to be able to know what I'm doing. Not knowing when 'Breaking Dawn' is going to shoot – because it changes all the time – is a kind of burden, to have this thing where you don't know when it's going to happen.

"So you've got to organize everything in your life around that and that can be difficult."

As someone who likes to plan, I completely understand. The last I heard about 'Breaking Dawn,' they were still trying to decide if they should make it one film or two. With 'Eclipse' coming out this summer, they'd better hurry!

I'm curious about 'Bel Ami.' It may be a rental rather than a must-see in the theater, but the cast is pretty impressive. How about you?

It might be a rental, but I'll watch it in the theater anyway to see Rob Pattinson. ;)

Am I being too harsh, or does Uma Thurman look like she's aged a lot?

Uma and Rob, well there's an odd pair. I'm having a hard time imagining Robert as the sex-beast go-getter -type, but i think i'm interested to check this one out. A rental though, def.

Ugh that's Disgusting. He's going to more likely have to get a techni-shot afterwards!

Bel Ami is an adaptition of a Guy de Montespan novel and it's a great script. European productions like this have quality unlike the crap that HW produces.

I really can't figure out how Christina Ricci was cast in this. I hate to be a hater...this just doesn't seem like a "fit".

Leda, I think you meant Guy de Maupassant... (just in case someone decides to order it at Barnes & Noble).

The story is quite interesting, but i much rather prefer french actors/actresses and director to make this book into a movie.
Love Uma though, will give it a shot once it's on DVD
Kristin Scott Thomas is fantastic and she's been playing in so many french movies, i absolutely loved her in "I've Loved You So Long "

What is he doing to himself? Why does he think he needs to do movies; heavy sex scenes with older used up women? Not to be too mean but straight to the point; this isn't him. Entertainment people are MILKING HIM LIKE A DAMN COW FOR ALL HE'S WORTH! Does he not see this happening? The more roles like this will only put him in a deeper hole. He's brilliant. He has always been. Summit would love to think they own him and so would the rest of the entertainment ___. dot dot dot. The world of hollywood is more of a porno industry and would love to see a young man fondled by women pushing fifty. This is sick. I know the story contains more of an actual storyline; but why make a movie with only sex? So they can display him like a checker board. Am I the only one who finds this wrong. WAKE UP BOY! STOP SELLING YOURSELF OUT! Be more like your friends; express your music your real talents your real urging devotions. You will never always be on top; but that doesnt mean you'll stop or slow down.!!!Wherever you go your footsteps will be there forever. DONT LET ENTERTAINMENT SQUEEZE YOUR UTTER!

Rob is an actor and learning to be a good one. He sees this movie as another stepping stone in his career. To be able to do sex scenes with women that could be his mother just shows how good an actor he is. Wish I was one of those women.
