Holly Robinson Peete Not Impressed With John Mayer’s Apology

Holly Robinson Peete is turning up the heat. You know things are going bad when people who were kind of defending you start getting upset. Here’s what Holly told People about John Mayer’s “apology.”

He was very remorseful about the fact that I was inadvertently tangled up into this mess. He reached out to me via email. … He did not apologize for his comments. … At this point, it doesn’t feel right for me to totally accept his apology. It’s time for him to really just drop the frat boy act and take responsibility for everything that he said, no matter how painful it’s going to be for him.

Here’s what John’s rep had to say in response:

“On Wednesday, John apologized for his remarks via Twitter and again in public that night. His remorse is genuine and he has expressed sincere regret for all of his word choices.”

Now how hard would it have been for the rep to simply say he’s sorry to Holly specifically?

Here’s what Holly had to say about whether or not John is a racist, and I think her question makes sense.

Is it possible to say something racially charged, bigoted and flat out ignorant and not be a racist person? That’s the question. My impression is that it’s possible, but I want to make it clear that this guy has some major issues to sort through and a whole lot of apologies to make. I heard some apologies about the N-word, and I’ve seen him crying, which seemed sincere. But I don’t know if he understands how much he hurt black women’s feelings.

I stand by what I said: I think John’s much more into all this attention than anything else. He hasn’t gotten this much press since he was dating Jennifer Aniston.

What do you think?

First, she was flattered by his comment and now she’s talking smack about him? Maybe she should keep her mouth shut as well.

Let me make it clear that I in NO WAY support or agree with what John has said. It was vulgar and repulsive to the extreme. There is no justification for it. That being said, I cannot help but pity John for some reason. I cannot explain my compassion for him, but I have it nonetheless. I just pray and hope that he holds on to his statement about quitting the media game. He needs to refocus his life around the things that matter.

My mother once told me that when someone just is so annoing and doesn’t stop being it, then the best way to show him/her the place is to start ignoring him/her.
I’ve come to the conclusion, that it work’s with some people, they stop annoing you, it is definitely worth a try!
