I find it funny that many people find this quote offensive but don’t think bashing gays or denying them certain rights as offensive. Nobody knows if Jesus was gay or not. He never had kids and from what I read in the bible, he never had a sexual encounter with anyone.
And you would know how? And don’t say read the bible…cuz nothing in the bible reveals Jesus’ sexuality.

I agree that Jesus’ sex life was never discussed in the Bible, which makes Elton’s comment that much more ridiculous and inappropriate. That being said, I do not discriminate against gays, but think they should have same rights as hetero couples, marriage, adoption.
I’m sure people are gonna be ripping him up, but I think it was his opinion and wasn’t meant to offend, or probably even reach out to people other than his gay fans… Who btw feel like Jesus wouldn’t love/accept them, maybe he wants them to. I dunno, I’m not really religious, but I know some of them bloggers are gonna jump on this and I think the comment was probably directed at his gay fans, and not at anyone who would be super offended by it.
In reading comments it is obvious many people do not know or believe who Jesus Christ is. He was the Son of God, God made man and to imply God was Gay is ridiculous. God’s Word is pretty specific about the issue of homosexuality. That it is an abomination. But sin is sin and the Gay community does not want to accept that. They would rather pervert the Word to suit their own needs. This is not Gay bashing IT IS THE TRUTH.

The problem is not calling someone gay, but rather that it’s still seen as an insult. Gay, straight, bi, black, white, whatever we are all human beings and should have equal rights.

First of all, I just want to say that Catholics are constantly insulting people of the LGBT community, so if they are offended by this comment I really don’t care. Secondly, I believe he is refering to the belief that Jesus and Peter, his closest Apostle were romantically involved. It is not too far fetched, if you actually HAVE read the Bible, as Jesus and Peter are *very* close. However, there really is no mention of a romantic life for Jesus AT ALL in the Bible, so he very well could have been gay.

Jesus was gay. Who can take a few loaves of bread and fishes and make a fabulous feast to feed a multitude? He loved his mom. He was polite, was nurturing and healing, put fools in their place and was fag bashed in the most vicious way.

Maybe it would make more sense if i knew the context, but with that comment alone like that, it’s pure nonsense. He’s saying Jesus was a forgiving, good man. Really? That’s new.. I don’t know why he thinks Jesus was gay though, but even if he was, that doesn’t really compare to the other things he had to face in his lifetime. (I believe there was this man who was crucified, but i’m not really a believer of the supernatural side of it all… like anyone cares, lol) Well maybe Elton just wanted to state the gay-thing and said a bunch of whatever in addition to that.
