Earlier this morning I wondered who was playing the main character in the new movie ‘Knockout.’ Now I think I found my answer ![]()
Here are Gina Carano and Ewan McGregor shooting a scene for ‘Knockout’. I’m assuming Gina is the burned “super soldier.”
She must be a newcomer: the only other films listed on her IMDb page are ‘Blood and Bone,’ ‘Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3,’ and ‘Ring Girls.’
This sounds interesting to me: what do you think?

The movie is called “Haywire”
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1506999/
Starring Michael Douglas, Ewan Macgregor, Antonio Banderas, Gina Carano, Bill Paxton…….
It is on my list as a MUST SEE!
Gina plays Mallory Kane, a US Marine, now Special Operative that get’s burned. According to the film’s site, Gina did all of her own stunts in the movie. Well, she’s an MMA champ and a true “Tough Girl”. And… she’s a really good looking girl as the picture of her and Ewan shows.
I recommend seeing “Haywire”. It really looks like a great cast as well. Steven Soderbergh is a great director, written by Lem Dobbs.
Gina is a rising star. She’s a celebrity in the mixed martial arts world.
This is her first serious acting gig. Steven Soderbergh discovered her and wanted her to be in a movie. He had the script written specifically for her. Gina should be the next Cat Woman…..
I just freaking love Ewan!
She is just getting into acting. She is actually an incredible MMA fighter.
Interesting!
I guess Angelina was busy, because the plot sounds like a typical Angie movie.
I lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve Ewan!
Gina was attached to the movie earlier that any of the other actors(September 2009), but anyway, Love Ewan and can’t wait for this movie to come out!!!
I wonder if Ewan will “cozy up” to his co-star like he did with his other one a few weeks ago – in Paris together long after filming wrapped. He sure does a lot of films – too bad he doesn’t choose quality over quantity. Too bad for Eve, too, because not only does he fool around on set, he manages to get on a set very often. Guess he has needs.
