Tim Gunn Takes Aim At The Kardashian Sisters

I LOVE watching Tim Gunn on 'Project Runway' (especially the "make it work" mantra he used tell contestants). Now, though, he's offering criticism to non-contestants, like the Kardashian sisters. Here's how he described their style:
"[While their styles] may have some sexiness to it, I find it's largely vulgar.
Gunn went on to say that their look "has a cheapness and a tawdriness [to it]."
I'm surprised Tim is calling out people like this; normally he seems so nice! Apparently this all started when the Kardashians unveiled their line for Bebe.
"I just think the Kardashians have an absence of taste and I don't think that that should be perpetuated," he said. "I'm sorry I'm sounding like an old farty, snob, but it bothers me."
OUCH! Obviously this criticism is harsh, but do you think Tim has a point? Have you seen anything from their Bebe line, and if so, what did you think?

Oh man. Will the celebrity-turned-designer cycle ever stop? Or at least slow down? Everyday this week, Women’s Wear Daily has reported YET another celebrity-designer collaboration, which is beginning to make my skin crawl. Now seriously, when it comes to fashion, who're you going to believe? Someone who has made a life out of it and is renowned as an expert or a trio of upcoming celebutantes not particularly known by their class or their taste, who, as far as I know, have never done anything of value to earn their celebrity status and who probably just signed their names onto someone else's work?
Team Gunn here too. Vulgar and classless for all three. Amazing to me that E network has set Khloe up as some sort of fashion guru. She has no credentials and no taste.
I love their style. He likes that Euro-gay look that only works if you live in Manhattan or Europe.

Umm yeah, I liked thier collection for Bebe till I saw what Fantashia had on recently at a show it was at the esteemed Jackie Robinson Foundation Event last night and she decided to wear what looked like a stripper's outfit, that the Kardashian sisters designed ( now have mixed thots) what d heck what was that...ewwww. Still love them 3 thou:-)
I saw that garbage too. And if anyone noticed A listers do not associate with this family. Why? Because they are considered trash in Hollywood. They stoop to all kinds of lows to stat relevant. Remember Rashard that dated Khloe? Well he outed the Kartrashians and said that the whole "break up" episode was fake. They had already been broken up for months but the producers scripted that episode for "drama". Not a surprise. This family is pathetic
I kinda agree and disagree. Yes, they have a tendency to dress very sexy. But I think that they sometimes wear some really nice outfits. I saw the line for BeBe and I thought that it was cute. Tim is a very elegant man but we also have to remember that style comes in all shapes. The fact that he doesn't agree with something doesn't make it wrong. He gave some good tips on his show but mostly he made everyone dress alike. I believe in diversity, and although the Kardashians can be kind of trashy at times, they can also look modern and cute as well.

Although I don't necessary appreciate Tim's comments on Project Runway sometimes but I totally agreed with this comments.
I don't see why the K sisters are interesting news, their reality show is a waste of time and money from the network...not worth anyone's time to watch
i think he's totally right and the karTRASHian skanks' 15 minutes are almost up. they are no talent hookers and if kim didn't leak her sex tape herself, we wouldn't have to hear about any of them. go tim!!
Pretty-faced or not, they all dress trashy. My favorite was the ad for their show's new season where they are all wearing cheap looking lingerie, including the pregnant one. That says it all about them.

i do not agree with him.......the k's are very pretty young ladies and know how to dress for the occasion....instead of going all out with just a tank top with their body type...they preferred to make blazers likable :)

Their sense of style is GENIOUS the only one that is not as great is Khloe, but Kourtney's and Kim's is awesome, so sexy, Im a girl and I find their style sexy and not trashy, all the girls that dont think so its because they can't pull it off. Stop dressing like boys and celebrate your femininity like the Kardashians do!
