It doesn’t sound like the parting between Katherine Heigl and ABC/‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is amicable, from what E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos is reporting. She confirmed that Katherine was leaving the show. Here’s what else she found out:
… Katherine Heigl has been asking to leave Grey’s Anatomy for close to three years now, and she finally got what she wanted last week when Grey’s boss Shonda Rhimes and… ABC agreed to let her out of her contract.
“She’s leaving the show,” one ABC insider tells me. “She wants to do movies.”
According to one of Heigl’s coworkers on the Grey’s set, things got “pretty miserable” for all parties involved and “they [the producers] decided to let her leave.”
The show’s ABC rep has no comment, and Heigl just parted ways with her personal publicist.
Then someone from Katherine’s camp contacted Kristen with this news:
… the actress was never given a call time to return to work on the Grey’s Anatomy set after her family leave ended earlier this month. According to this source, Heigl’s “calls weren’t returned” when she phoned in asking when to report back.
Actually, none of this is contradictory. It’s entirely possible Katherine’s requests for a call time weren’t returned because they were deciding whether or not they wanted her back.
I don’t blame her for wanting to advance her career and focus on feature films; it’s just unfortunate that it all had to come about this way.
In these pictures Katherine was spotted going to lunch with her manager yesterday. I still can’t get used to her being a brunette but I LOVE that bag.

I’m glad they finally let her leave. I know people have strong feelings of dislike for her, but I happen to really enjoy her movies.

she’s an ungrateful bitch and totallly unprofessional. i’m sure she’s hell to work with.
I dont think shes a bitch and i like her for the most part but I agree that its unprofessional.
From everything you hear about this show it’s no wonder she wanted to leave. They kick everyone off – I don’t think Shondra sounds like a very good person to work with so I don’t blame her at all.

Personally I think she started a lot of mess on the set and that was why it was uncomfortable for her. Dont hear many of her castmates coming to her rescue. Oh, and as for her acting career that is not going to happen we already have enough comedic actresses and she doesnt have the chops for serious roles, just ask Jennifer Aniston.
