New mother Rebecca Gayheart was spotted out in New York City yesterday afternoon. She reportedly was having coffee with friends when she stepped outside to take a call (don’t you hate it when people you’re with have a long cell phone conversation while you’re sitting AT THE TABLE with them?
Rebecca must’ve left little Billie at home. I think it’s great that she’s taking time for herself. All of us who are mothers (or have friends who are new mothers) know how important it is to remember to do that!
I wonder if Rebecca and her husband, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Eric Dane, are spending the summer in New York City?

I probably told this story already, but I”m senile. I went to a going away party at a restaurant. There were probably 14 of us or so. I noticed it got really quiet, so I look around and EVERY SINGLE PERSON (including my friend who is in her 50′s) was staring down at their phones and texting. I was stunned! I was the only one not doing it. Wow..
Totally agree about someone taking a long call while you are with them. SO obnoxious. I understand having to take a quick call, but the ones who just jabber on and the ones who stay at the table with you while you stare off! Ugh. We have one friend who is the worst offender of cell phone etiquette. LOL
I find it incredibly rude when I’m out with friends and people answer their phones. It makes me wonder how they ever managed to survive without their mobile phones in the time before it was invented.

I pointed out that my friend was in her 50s because, from my experience, that generation isn’t all about texting AT ALL. I’m 43 years old and didn’t get it.
Another time, a friend of mine flew in for work and we got to spend some time together. We had a nice lunch at the Mission Inn on the patio (beautiful setting, nice day). So, Julia starts cracking up – the table across the way had two young ladies seated. They were talking on their cell phones at the same time….FOREVER! Again, what’s the point? I can see emergency calls, etc….but why go to lunch w/someone and ignore them?
