Chris Brown Faked Tears At BET Awards With Eye Drops

An Us Weekly source is claiming that Chris Brown used eye drops to fake tears while on stage at the BET Awards earlier this week. WHAT?

In case you missed it, Chris broke down during his Michael Jackson tribute this Sunday.

Before he took the stage to belt out “Man in the Mirror,” a backstage source tells Us one of Brown’s bodyguards gave the singer, 21, tear-inducing eye drops.

Naturally, Chris’ rep is denying this.

Brown’s rep denies it, telling Us that Brown simply “was moved by the opportunity to pay tribute to his idol.”

What do you think? Crocodile tears? Or was Chris truly moved?

I’m cynical.. to me the song choice, the tears, the ‘acting’ just screams a pr ploy to make him look sensitive and a ‘changed man’..

@Candi: He is an entertainer who is asking for public admiration. He is not making music for his health, or because he has a gun to his head, he is doing it to make money and be famous. So, when you ask for public admiration, then you must accept that your life IS an open book. If you beat up a woman, leave her a bloody mess, seem rather unapologetic about it, then expect to have many people despise you.

If he were a fat, ugly, non musician, and he beat you or your sister or mother up, you would not be so quick to ask people to forgive him and move on from the things he did in his personal life.

I can’t believe this crap is still news. I don’t think he faked those tears at all. His performance lasted a good while, I doubt he would’ve been able to fight back the tears if he placed the drops in his eyes before his performance. It’s amazing how we’re all talking about this crap but the actual person who was abused has moved on (happily I might add) with a new boo. Let it go people…next!

who cares?! it was a PERFORMANCE. everything is about showmanship and the viewer’s experience. you think everything you see these artists do they 100% believe in? most performances are planned anyway. it would seem that people might focus on the bigger picture, the tribute to michael, rather than if tears were real or not. and who is the “witness” anyway that’s claiming he used drops? i don’t believe half of what I read. I enjoyed the performance and that’s all I care about.

I love how the media is turning his image into “the victim” forgetting what he actually did to Rhianna’s face. Priceless what a few crocodile tears can do for you…

it was so fake….and awkward. he over did it. horrible actor.

  9. CoryP says:

Well said, Candi! I say people need to move on from the Rihanna incident. In my opinion, he’s a great performer actually think he did one of the best tributes for MJ since his passing! Let him do his job, which is performing and leave his personal life out of it…

  10. candi says:

so TC are we supposed to hold a grudge about something that had absolutely nothing to do with us? should we label him for the rest of his life. if i recall he was already punished by the law. wouldn’t it be something if people always brought up our mistakes? and wouldn’t it be great if that interferred with our livelihood as well?

After the Bavaria dress incident, I question everything.

  12. audrey says:

I watched a few minutes of the clip on another site. The performance was way overboard, and the tears didn’t sound genuine. This man is supposed to be a professional performer, but he came across as cheesy and fake.

  13. CapturingLife says:

I’m on the fence with this one.

    He cried.
