Angelina Jolie Talks Parenting Teenagers And Schooling Her 6 Kids

Angelina Jolie gave a candid interview with Vanity Fair magazine, sharing a little bit about her kids’ school schedules and also some great advice that was given to her.

Angelina said she was given some great advice on parenting in the teen years:

“‘You’ll know their teenagers when they close the door.’ And when they start closing the door, don’t talk to them, listen. Because there’s nothing you could say.” “You have to raise them right before that. Then you need to listen for a good five years, just keep your mouth closed.”

The actress also shared a bit about her kids’ schooling and how they are taught when they are traveling the world:

“We have two teachers who travel with us, and we found a wonderful local man who teached the history of Venice and some Italian,” she explains. “They go to school every day 10 to 4 at home. They’re on the Lycee curriculum. We keep them in that system when we’re back in L.A, and in New York they sometimes go to a Lycee school.”

I’m sure Brad and Angelina are going to have their hands full when these kids are all hitting their teen years so close together! Yikes!

Education is important glad they are learning. My only problem with them is why do they dress Shiloh as a boy. That is not normal. That kid is going to have great damage.

I feel sorry for kids who have no friends except their own family – one of the important things about going so school is to get along with other kids, meet other families who maybe have a different lifestyle, learn to fit in a group and get along etc. A family I know had their kids educated at home with private teachers and they really turned out strange and had all kinds of problems – because they simply missed having friends of their own age and being like everyone else.

Is she waiting to catch the sandwich I am going to throw at her?

  20. EverSkye3 says:

Right, they are all just jealous because of several thing: they are not as beautiful as her, they do not have Brad, they do not have 6 beautiful children and they cannot afford to live like she does and be able to do this. its so very obvious WHO has the education and who is very successful and has a great career…..that would be Angelina and not most of you haters, so sad you are not comfotable in your own skins and must suck that you are so unhappy that you have to bash others…..oh well better you than me :)

  21. Wren says:

I wonder if these are the same types of people who complain about daycares “raising” children but then point at mothers on welfare and say they should get jobs.

  22. YAYI says:

Because they’re as moronic and ignorant as one can be.

  23. shljock says:

Spelling error would be mixing or doubling letters. This is elementary school grammar mistake, along with ” You’ll know THEIR teenagers… “. A person who transcripted this interview should be castigated.

    Good teen tips, though.

  24. Wren says:

I hope I don’t know their teenagers because they and my adult children are still living with me.

  25. and....? says:

Sshhh…The Brangeloonies will have your head for disrespecting their queen.

  26. Anon says:

    Ha! My sentiments exactly.

  27. Ellie says:

“teached”… are you freakin kidding me? I hope that’s a spelling error and not her stupidity. If she actually said that I hope she gets a teacher for herself as well.

  28. Anonymous says:

I want to be the teachers who get to travel w/them everywhere!

  29. Translation? says:

This sony press junket seemed a bit like how cannes works- groups of reporters who ask questions (many of them from foreign countries) who then put out interviews in their native languages…sometimes these “quotes” get translated into OTHER languages (say from French to German) and then back to English again- you can get some pretty funny/odd results in meaning & grammar…NEVERTHELESS, the foreign reporters seem to ask more interesting questions, not just the typical stuff both she & Brad get asked 100 times by USA media (like “Are you going to have more kids?” “Are you going to get married?”) and have given the same answer(s) to for six years!

  30. Wren says:

That’s sweet that the kids’ school days start at 10 a.m. I would have loved to sleep in back when I was still in school.

  31. zilly says:

Will someone shut her up!! Quit making movies and raise your kids

  32. Wren says:

Why do people assume that she’s not raising her kids just because she’s working?

  33. I must say that she is performing her responsibilities very well. Moreover I would ask her to pay more heed towards her children.

  34. Anonymous says:

I’m so sick of Brangelina… and especially Angelina herself. She seems so stuck up. And I’m also sick of hearing about the luxuries her orphanage enjoys. she is so fuggin weird and i think brad is too, for putting up with it.
