So far (for all three hours) things are going smoothly for Lindsay Lohan in jail, according to L.A. Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore, since her booking at a little after 10 am PDT. She surrendered this morning.
L.A. sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore says Lindsay Lohan “has been extremely cooperative” as she begins her three-month sentence for violating probation in a DUI case.
“Everything is going smoothly,” he said.
Said Whitmore, “She will be kept away from general population.”
The first order of business, according to the spokesman, is a routine medical/psychological evaluation before she’s taken to her 12-by-8 foot cell.
After Lindsay was remanded into custody, her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, talked to reporters.
Holley told reporters that the actress “is asking for your prayers and support. She has stepped up and accepted responsibility.”
Holley described Lohan as “a talented young woman and I appreciate that she has accepted responsibility here. She is scared — as anyone would be — but is as resolute as anyone could be and she is doing it.”
Good for Lindsay for keeping it together this morning during what I’m sure was a spectacle (check out the picture of the guy holding a “Free Lindsay” sign outside the courthouse). I’d be a blubbering mess if I had to go to jail!
