George Clooney's Girlfriend Reportedly Linked To Italian Nightclub Scandal

George Clooney's girlfriend, Italian model Elisabetta Canalis, has been linked to a scandal involving drugs and prostitution at two Milan nightclubs. An investigation has been going on for two years and an Italian newspaper got its hands on documents that detail some of the goings-on.

A model-turned-escort named Karima Menad told the authorities that she and Elisabetta did cocaine together back in 2007 (before Elisabetta started dating George).

"I remember taking cocaine with Elisabetta Canalis and two others, We were in The Club and it was December 2007," Menad added. "We had been at a party of some famous, rich celebrity whose name I cannot remember. I don't remember who brought the drugs but we all took it."

The clubs supposedly hired women to help increase profits with their higher income clients.

"Their job was to encourage these customers to drink alcohol as to increase the table's bill, followed up by sex off premises," prosecutor Frank Di Maio stated in the documents. "They were often given cocaine for free by those who want to sit at a table of famous people…they want the visibility that comes from being seated at a central table, and to be seen with models, or celebrities from fashion, entertainment and sport."

E! says that George and Elisabetta's reps haven't made any statements regarding the allegations yet. The article doesn't state that Elisabetta was involved in working for the clubs, just that she allegedly did drugs with a woman who did work there.

The two clubs were shut down a few days ago and the five owners were arrested.

What a nightmare to be dragged into a messy investigation like this.
