Over the weekend it came to our attention that McAfee has BLOCKED I’m Not Obsessed through its software. MEANING that the number one virus protection software found INO as a threat. Millions of homes were affected.
All because I used SiteMeter as my traffic counter!!
Basically, McAfee didn’t like SiteMeter so they just blocked the entire site. It only affects Firefox users in McAfee households. I’m getting a ton of emails regarding the reports and we have removed SiteMeter and requested a review from the company.
We are working our HARDEST to get this resolved. There is nothing wrong with INO – it was that SiteMeter had a third party cookie attached to the account which I was unaware of.
If you are using a MAC or if you are still on IE, you should see no issue. For everyone else who is experiencing the madness please know that everything is resolved and we are just waiting on McAfee to review I’m Not Obsessed one more time.
I’m dry heaving as we SPEAK!! Can’t believe this happened!! I’ve left a dozen messages and am still waiting on a reply. Please be patient and excuse me while I rip my hair out.
I have been having minor difficulties with this site for a little while–nothing major Vera, but loading slow and a little lag when a page loads. I don’t use McAfee, but I do use Firefox, and now I am wondering if it was because of the site meter.

Vera, that is so crazy! What a nightmare. This is why I love AVG and Avast. Norton and McAfee are a pain in the arse.
It happens to me all the time, it says that the site is a threat, but I know it’s BS, so I just enjoy my INO every day as usual

Its terrible but if they are putting cookies into our computers thats not fair. Mcafee is obviously picking up on it which is what we pay them for ( please note I dont use them I just mean any anti-virus program. For the past week I have been getting script errors when loading this site. There are so many boxes, ads, and different things on this site now that it has a horrible load time. If you watch in the bottom corner all the sites its loading from its no wonder.
Had few problems, but mostly loading time and some error about script being stuck , so i had to cancel it. I still can get to the site and post comments though.
Me too, I get a virus pop up on the cookies everytime. I trusted that it wasn’t malicious and kept coming. But I did have a problem about a year ago when it wouldn’t let me come here for a while. I was having loading issues a couple weeks ago too.
