You can tell that filming of both parts of the “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” are almost under way because we’ve just gotten the first bit of new casting news. Rami Malek has been officially signed on to play the role of Benjamin, a member of the Egyptian coven. Rami’s character doesn’t join the film until Part II, but since they are filming both movies at the same time, they need the cast in place and ready to go starting in October. Breaking Dawn has a LOT of new characters, so this cast could grow exponentially!

You might recognize Rami for his role in both “Night at the Museum” movies – he played Egyptian prince Ahkmenrah. He most recently starred in the miniseries “The Pacific”. He is also in the upcoming movie “Larry Crowne” with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts.

I’m sure by the end of the week we will know all there is to know about Rami, those Twilight fans are quick and thorough with getting to know everything there is to know about the new cast members! :)

Loved The Pacific. I was a little worried about his character at first, but he definitely redeemed himself. Showed such range since the character was SOO completey different than Night at the Museum. I wasn’t sure who he was at first.

Oooo, I recognize him! I think he was the kid who blew himself up inside the hospital on the final season of 24.

I am so excited that they chose him for the role of Ben, I think he will do a great job.
