Well, with how nice Emma Watson seems to be, I’m sure she meant this as nothing more than a harmless comment. But still, it sounds like a dig at her rival franchise. Emma told a reporter than the Harry Potter series isn’t into selling sex — unlike Twilight.
“This kiss between Hermione and Ron is highly anticipated, it’s been building up for eight films now. And ‘Harry Potter’ is not Twilight’, you know; we’re not selling sex. So, whenever there is any hint of that, everybody gets terribly excited. In fact, it was horribly awkward; we couldn’t stop laughing.”
“The nicest thing about it was, before we did it, we turned to each other and were like, ‘God, this is going to be awful, isn’t it?’ but hopefully it will look good.”
She’s right though. Harry Potter is much more straight edge than Twilight. They’re both great books/films for different reasons.

Maybe not, but plenty of Twilight fans (aka idiots who wouldn’t know good writing if it hit them in the face) claim that Twilight is better than Harry Potter. If they’re allowed to live in an alternate reality, we’re allowed to take digs at their idol.

I’m sorry, but how can this be concidered a dig when all she is doing is stating the truth in a very polite manner. While it is true that nobody is saying that Harry Potter is erotic like Twilight, I’ve seen plenty of Twilight fans who say there is not one ounce of romance in Harry Potter. So, what she said honestly needed to be said.

I don’t think that was a dig. She was obviously noting what even Stephanie Meyer has said. Twilight is erotic. Harry Potter on the other hand is about magic and challenges.
She certainly is a very intelligent resceptable woman. You go, Hermione. Way to keep it classy.

Twilight is not a good series, it’s laughably bad.
i don’t think it was a dig. But I can see what she means, the females characters in hp are somewhat more admirable than the female characters of twilight… teenagers sacrificing life for the greater good vs teenager sacrificing life for teenage romance.
I can certainly see her point though. Here in HP, the characters are much more admirable than those in twilight. You have teenagers sacrificing their life for the greater good vs teenagers sacrificing their life for teenage love. But both good books in their respective genres.
