The Jersey Shore Kids Think They’re Being Treated Unfairly

Those Jersey Shore kids are everywhere these days! After making an appearance Sunday at the MTV VMA’s, the cast of Jersey Shore sat down with Ellen Degeneres on her talk show to talk to her about their hit reality show! They told Ellen that they aren’t just the people that you see on TV and there’s more to them than just GTL – the phrase made famous by the show.

UsMagazine.com reports that Vinny Guadagnino, who could probably be labelled as the most subtle of the men in the house, told Ellen about a time he was approached in a bar;

“One time we were in a bar and a guy walked by and said, ‘You are everything that’s wrong with this country today,’ I was taken back by that. There’s the economy, poverty, equal rights — and Jersey Shore is the worst thing that’s wrong?”

And, while Vinny says,

“I think the Jersey Shore is awesome. Its fun, and it’s entertaining,”

his cast mate Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi wants everyone to know that there’s more to her than the over tanned, juicehead loving guidette that she appears to be on the show.

“I think no one knows how we really are. We have, like, different sides. Obviously you see us on the show we party, we do this, and we do that. But outside of the show, we’re very quiet.”

I have a hard time believing that Snooki is quiet! She goes on to tell Ellen that

“I’ll go to frickin’ Barnes & Nobles, get a coffee and just sit down and read, No one would ever think that. We have different sides to us and people don’t see that.”

I’m sure there’s more to the cast members than we see on TV, but the partying and the GTL is what makes the show such a success. I do love watching the show, but I have to admit I think I would be slightly mortified if they were my children! I don’t however think that they’re all that’s wrong with the country. Sure they’ve become very popular, but they do provide entertainment and I don’t think that they’re taking themselves too seriously.

What do you think? Do you think Jersey Shore is all that’s wrong with the country?

    Jersey Shore is just another “reality” show that is scripted for shock value like Jerry Springer or Montel Williams or Geraldo Rivera. Like a train wreck you’re horrified but can’t help watching to see what happens.

    I’m more concerned that David Hasselhoff is still on tv. That’s really scary!

    I am sure many want to become actors, get additional sponsors so being viewed one way can be detrimental to those aspirations.

    Snooki will be pimping a diet/workout plan in the near future, Paul D and “The Situation” will be trying to do some modeling in the future.

    Its maddening when celebs party and live it up, then feel they are treated unfairly…esp. fake celebrities that do anything and everyone to be in the limelight. I feel ZERO sympathy for them and their “unfair” treatment. And, yes, I agree w/ the unknown person who said that they represent everything that’s wrong. Their arrogance and pride for their complete lack of morals is what is wrong with our world today.

    I think the dude who made the comment in the bar was probably having a bad day thinking back on when times were not so evolved we have come a long way things change and we’ve excepted more than we should have now things are out of control and we can’t do anything about it cause when its time for Jersey Shore to come on will all be watching it and every other bull crap tv shows the networks put on air to gain viewers

    They can’t complain about it now. They acted a certain way on the first season of the show and did “outrageous” stuff to get their names on the map and they’ve eaten up every minute of fame that it has brought to them. Now they want us to know that they’re all deep and stuff?
