Carrie Underwood’s Songs Banned From Ottawa Radio Station

Ooookay… so I guess it’s fair to say the people of Ottawa are NOT happy about Carrie Underwood’s husband, Mike Fisher, being traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators. KISS 105.3 FM in Ottawa has banned ALL of Carrie’s songs from their radio station. FOREVER.

Kiss 105.3 called the big-time move a “betrayal to our community” and charged that he “was lured away from Ottawa by a country-music superstar.”

I didn’t know players had much control over these things, but I don’t know. So maybe the station is joking? It’s unclear, but if it is a joke, Mike doesn’t find it funny.

“I heard about it right away and Carrie heard about it and she was extremely disappointed and frustrated,” the star athlete told the Vancouver Sun. “I think they meant it as a joke that really wasn’t funny.

“I don’t know if it was for attention or not, but obviously Carrie had nothing to do with the move or the trade or anything so to imply something like that was just wrong,” said Fisher…

Mike confided he had been praying about the situation.

“I was just so frustrated and said ‘God, if you have me go somewhere take care of it, look after it,’ and he sure did that,” Fisher revealed. “He put me in a place I was comfortable with and I think that’s part of reason that this is the place I’m supposed to be and that’s comforting for sure.”

Hopefully this is all just a joke. Regardless, at least Carrie isn’t just twiddling her thumbs at home anymore ;). What do you think?

The radio station already sent out an apology. It was definitely a joke. Besides, they didn’t even PLAY Carrie Underwood music as they were not a country radio station, they were pop in the first place. They were looking for the publicity that her name would bring them!

Yeah, God chose Nashville…just like he chose LA Kings for Gretzky and NY Islanders for Yashin….

I’m sorry, but in a league with over 30 teams I find it very suspicious that he would end up being traded to the one that is basically her hometown.
If he is trying to say that she had no hand in that WHATSOEVER then he is a bigger sack of crap than I though.
If you want to be traded, then ask for the trade. Don’t go on and on in various magazines and newspapers about how you are “excited” to stay in Ottawa and are having a million dollar “dream house” built and then be “shocked” when it turns out you’ve been traded to your new wife’s hometown.
I think people are upset because a) they feel lied to and betrayed. b) he was a really nice guy and never went looking for publicity before he met her (and is now in PEOPLE or US weekly on a practically regular basis) and c) true sens fans have watched him come up through the farm team and play his whole career up until now in Ottawa. He was born 3 hours outside of Ottawa. He was a franchise player here and a local boy who made it big.
