Lady Gaga’s Song ‘Born This Way’ Modified For Malaysia Radio

Have you listened to Lady Gaga’s new song, ‘Born This Way‘? Apparently, Malaysian officials were a little concerned about the “gay anthem” (as E! News calls it). What’s offensive? These lyrics:

“No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I’m on the right track, baby.”

It’s scrambled with a “jumble of words” so the lyrics can’t be understood on Malaysia radio. Here’s the explanation:

“The particular lyrics in ‘Born This Way’ may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia’s social and religious observances,” said AMP Radio Networks, the country’s top private radio operator, in a statement. “The issue of being gay, lesbian or [bisexual] is still considered as a ‘taboo’ by general Malaysians.”

Lady Gaga hasn’t made a response yet. Remember Target?

more like why does the Malaysian authorities see the need in having to censor every damn word that doesn’t go in par with the Islamic religion? what IS exactly so wrong with the lyrics above, is one that I will never be able to fully fathom. I don’t see anything wrong in Lady Gaga showing her support for the LGBT in community. If anything, we need more ppl like her to provide more encouragement and confidence among the LGBT community. They’re humans too and they deserve to be treated equally just like everyone else.
