Brad Pitt may play the general manager of a baseball team in the upcoming film ‘Moneyball‘, but that doesn’t mean he went into it knowing much about the sport. The actor and dad of six admits in this month’s issue of Sports Illustrated:
“It’s shameful how little I know about baseball … I’m amazed they let me do this movie. Baseball and I didn’t get along that well. I wrestled one year [in high school]. I dove one year. Everything but baseball.”
Brad shares the reason he took on the role:
“I’m a sucker for the underdog story.”
I’m sure plenty of actors don’t have a clue about the roles they sign on to play. The same could be said for movie-goers, too. I don’t know a thing about football or baseball but will go see this one just like I did with ‘The Blind Side‘. That movie made me want to start watching football – especially at the college level!
