Rihanna Outraged Over Dutch Magazine Use Of A Racial Slur

A Dutch magazine ran an article about Rihanna and her style and was titled “De Ni**a*B**ch.” Are you KIDDING me? Rihanna was not happy and shot back at the editor on twitter:

@evajackie I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate…There are 1000′s of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race…

After some back and forth on twitter, Eva Hoeke quit as editor of Jackie Magazine. She released the following statement on Facebook:

‘I realize that my first reaction through Twitter, in which I indicated that it was a joke, has been an incomplete misrepresentation what me, and also the author of the article, meant. The term ‘ni**ab*tch’ came from America and all we did was describing a style of dress…[the article] had no racial motive at it’s basis… me and the publisher have concluded that because my credibility is now affected, it is better… if I quit my job as editor-in-chief immediately…I realize that these errors – although without malicious intentions – are enough reason for leaving.’

Even if you listen to hip-hop music, I’ve never heard a style of dress described that way! What a mess.

I’ve always been against any racial comments due to the fact that I am a latino woman married to an Irish man, I don’t think we should judge others solely on their appearance, and althought it’s so unfair to say things like this, I sometimes feel she ask for it. I can always respect a woman for being outspoken but when that woman behave in such way she is degrading an entired race as well. This is a little hypocritical of rihanna to get so offendedand upset with this woman for being inappropiate in her choice of words. I mean, doesn’t wear a necklace that reads the word cu*nt?! You get what you give. If you act like a n**abitch you’ll be treated like one. Very simple.

Rihanna is unrealistic; we’re black, and we live in a world where the color of our skin will almost always judge the credence of our character, regardless of how wrong it is, or how inaccurate it may be. This Caribbean dame needs to get over herself, and embrace the natural scorn.

I’m assuming the Dutch woman is not black, and she was way out of line… and yet if someone who’s black says the word, then that’s okay.

    That’s what’s pathetic.

    Double standard much?
