Quote Of The Day: Cate Blanchett On Plastic Surgery

‘The Hobbit’ star Cate Blanchett clearly is not a fan of plastic surgery, and I have to say, her reasoning makes sense. Here’s what she has to say about women getting plastic surgery:

“There’s been a decade or so of people doing intervention with their face and their body. Now that we’re emerging from that people are seeing that long term it’s not so great.

“I’m not sitting on a soapbox telling women what they should and shouldn’t do, but I know what works for me. I’d just be too frightened about what it means long term. In the end if you have all that stuff done..in the end you just see the work. It doesn’t fill me with admiration, it fills me with pity.”

“Fills me with pity”: pretty strong words! Yet I like how she isn’t judgmental about it, either.

She still looks good, I think you can only make an informed comment once your face really changes and no longer looks the same. And I don’t think it has to be all or nothing, I’m sure there’s little things that can be done.
