Rosie O’Donnell Clarifies Her Comments About Lindsay Lohan

Rosie O’Donnell apparently is feeling the heat from her criticism of casting Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor! Lindsay herself responded, and Rosie went back on the ‘Today’ show to clarify her comments. Here’s an excerpt:

“I (was) watching Whitney Houston’s funeral, and I remember thinking why didn’t more people say what they knew? We all knew, when she would not show up to do this show, not show up to do my show, we watched ‘Being Bobby Brown’ and it was like watching Sid and Nancy, they were people who were in the throes of addiction. But all that anyone cared about was that the show was getting ratings, not that this woman, this talented individual, this human being, this mother, this daughter, was worth saving…

To look at Lindsay Lohan you can’t help but feel for her. I don’t think she’s untalented, I think she’s quite talented.”

That’s what I thought Rosie was saying all along: Lindsay needs help and should NOT be in the spotlight working until she’s gotten more help. With the problems Lindsay’s been getting into not even a month after successfully completing her parole, I have to wonder if Rosie has a point. Here’s Rosie’s complete interview on ‘Today’ below:

I have to applaud Rosie here b/c she is dead on. If more people had spoken out about what was really going on with Whitney, she might still be alive today. Lindsey is headed down a very destructive road and she would do well to have parents like Britney Spears’ and go the conservatorship route. But I guess in Lindsey’s case her mom and dad are just as crazy if not crazier than she is.
