I’m sure this wasn’t how Lance Armstrong wanted to start his weekend, let alone end his career as a champion cyclist. As People.com reports, the seven-time Tour de France winner announced that he would end his fight in the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency investigation against him.
“There comes a point in every man’s life when he has to say, ‘Enough is enough,’” said Lance in a statement. “For me, that time is now.”
After being accused of possessing and trafficking performance enhancers to others back in June, it was reported yesterday that Lance would be banned from the sport and would lose his multiple Tour de France titles.
“I know who won those seven Tours. The toughest event in the world where the strongest man wins. Nobody can ever change that. Especially Travis Tygart,” said Lance.”
This isn’t the first time that Lance has been accused of drug use. A few years back, American cyclist Floyd Landis made accusations about the seven-time champ. What do you guys think? Does Lance deserve to lose his titles, as well as a lifetime ban?
