Lance Armstrong Fired By Nike, Stepping Down From LiveStrong

lance armstrong fired by nike, steps down from livestrong

Have you been following the USADA’s report on Lance Armstrong’s alleged illegal doping? Lance never admitted any wrongdoing, but he refused to participate in arbitration to fight the allegations. Nike has dropped Lance as a spokesperson.

“Due to the seemingly insurmountable evidence that Lance Armstrong participated in doping and misled Nike for more than a decade, it is with great sadness that we have terminated our contract with him.”

On top of that, Lance announced he is stepping down as chairman of LiveStrong, the charity he founded to fight cancer. Lance said in a statement:

“To spare the foundation any negative effects as a result of controversy surrounding my cycling career, I will conclude my chairmanship.”

It probably was a good move for LiveStrong: Nike said it will continue to support the organization. I don’t know WHAT to think about all of these allegations. Ultimately, it’s just sad.
