Quentin Tarantino is NOT Your Slave (Video)

quentin tarantino interview

One thing is clear from this interview: Quentin Tarantino has had ENOUGH of being asked about the relationship between violence in the media and real-life violence. The ‘Django Unchained‘ director, who’s known for his exceptionally violence movies, went off on British reporter Krishnan Guru-Murthy in this interview when he was asked about the subject. Quentin initially refused to answer. When Krishnan pressed the subject, Quentin got really upset, at one point telling the interviewer, “I’m not your slave!” He obviously has decided he’s not talking about this topic anymore.

You can watch the interview below. The tension starts at about the 4:30 mark. Do you think Quentin over-reacted, given all the violence that’s been happening over the last few months in the United States, or did the interviewer just go too far?

Love It Or Hate It: Marion Cotillard

marion cotillard at critics' choice awards

Marion Cotillard made a colorful appearance on the red carpet at the Critics’ Choice Awards. What do you think of her red carpet look? I’m not sure about it. I guess my question is: why? This dress doesn’t seem to do anything for Marion.

It’s festive, and that’s always fun. The skirt seems a bit stiff. Honestly, this dress leaves me feeling kind of “Eh.” Certainly nothing bad but nothing that makes me NEED to own it, either. But Marion is lovely, so she can wear anything! What do you think: love it or hate it?

QOTD: Ben Affleck On His Career Progress

ben affleck grateful for critics' choice award

Everyone’s talking about how the Academy Awards snubbed Ben Affleck by not nominating him for Best Director for his work on ‘Argo.’ Ben himself made a joke about it when he accepted the award for Best Director at the Critics’ Choice Awards. However, he still recognizes how far his career has come since the Bennifer I implosion.

“…I do want to thank the Broadcast Film Critics Association. It is very, very cool for me. There was a time when the Ben Affleck’s Critics’ Award was a ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch.”

Good for Ben for keeping his sense of humor- LOL. Very classy.

Alyssa Milano Had To Find Her Sexy Side To Be A ‘Mistress’

alyssa milano new tv show mistresses

Alyssa Milano is returning to TV! She welcomed a son about a year and a half ago. Many new mothers have a tough time feeling sexy. Alyssa had to figure something out for her new role, however. She stars in the new ABC show ‘Mistresses.’ The title is accurate: it’s about women who have affairs with married men. Alyssa’s character is named Savannah Davis. Savannah is a frustrated wife who ends up having an affair with a married co-worker. Then she finds out she’s pregnant and doesn’t know who’s the baby’s daddy. Complications ensue- LOL. Alyssa explained what drew her to this racy role:

“I love playing women who are flawed, and right from the pilot she makes a decision that has serious consequences.”

Yeah, sounds like it! This show is an American revamp of the BBC show ‘Mistresses.’ But it’s not an exact duplicate, in case you watched it on BBC America.

“Tonally, the show is different. There’s a lightness and a fun to what we set out to do that is different.”

However, one thing that is similar: the many racy sex scenes. For Alyssa, those were a challenge. When she shot the pilot, she had just had her baby and was still breastfeeding.

“Every two hours, I had to go into my trailer and pump … I wasn’t feeling so sexy, let me tell you.”

I can understand that. ABC hasn’t scheduled ‘Mistresses’ yet, so we don’t know when it will air. I’m looking forward to checking it out whenever it does premiere!

Robert Pattinson’s New Cause: Fight For The Pubs!

robert pattinson wants to own a pub

Robert Pattinson said it’s a relief to have the ‘Twilight‘ franchise behind him. So what does one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood want to do next? Own a pub.

“I would love to own a pub in London at some point…I wouldn’t want to buy a pub that was all trendy and done Gastro style food, I just want a real working men’s pub. I probably wouldn’t even go public that I owned it. I wouldn’t want it to become the sort of place people went to spot celebrities. I just want it to be a real pub where men discuss the issues of the day.

“The UK is the home of pubs, and we need to make sure we protect them. Every time I am back home and see that a local pub has closed down it actually makes me sad. The local can be the focal point of the community, and if we lose them we lose one of the things that is greatest about Britain. Men putting the world to rights over a few pints puts the Great into Great Britain; we have to fight to keep that.”

Well, with all the money Robert’s made starring in the ‘Twilight’ movies, I’m sure he can afford to buy a few pubs!

ENTER TO WIN: $100 American Express Gift Card From Hyde Park On The Hudson

Academy Award nominees Bill Murray and Laura Linney star in a historical tale that uniquely explores the all-too-human side of one of history’s iconic leaders. Blending literate wit and drama, Hyde Park on Hudson is directed by Roger Michell from a screenplay by Richard Nelson.

In June 1939, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (played by Mr. Murray) readies to host the King and Queen of England (Samuel West and Olivia Colman) for a weekend at the Roosevelt home at Hyde Park on Hudson, in upstate New York – marking the first-ever visit of a reigning British monarch to America. As Britain faces imminent war with Germany, the royals are desperately looking to FDR for U.S. support.

But international affairs must be juggled with the complexities of FDR’s domestic establishment, as his wife Eleanor (Olivia Williams), mother Sara (Elizabeth Wilson), and secretary Missy (Elizabeth Marvel) will all play a part in making the royal weekend an unforgettable one.

Seen through the eyes of Daisy (Ms. Linney), Franklin’s neighbor and intimate, the weekend will produce not only a special relationship between two great nations, but, for Daisy – and through her, for us all – a deeper understanding of the mysteries of love and friendship.
