Seth McFarlane might be one of the funniest guys ever in Hollywood, but he’s typically a behind the scenes kinda guy. The creator of the animated hit ‘Family Guy’ and the hilarious movie ‘Ted’, as well as the guy who provided a lot of the voices for both projects, Seth is getting ready to step in front of the camera as the host of this weekend’s Oscars broadcast.
Seth sat down with PARADE magazine and said that his greatest fear would be if ‘nothing’ happened;
“The worst thing to happen at the Oscars would be if nothing happened,”
“You want something unscripted, something to riff on, something kinda out there.”
When asked about what kind of host he think he’ll be, he replied that he’ll try to;
“find a balance somewhere between Billy Crystal and Ricky Gervais,” he says, though it was former emcee Hugh Jackman whose advice hit closest to home. “He told me, ‘Don’t be too kind. Shake it up a little bit.’
I have a feeling that Seth will be pretty funny. I mean, he can’t be worse than James Franco, right? You can read more in this Sunday’s issue of PARADE.
