Way Way Back Banner

From the studio that brought you 500 Days of Summer, Juno and Little Miss Sunshine comes the indie family comedy of the summer! THE WAY, WAY BACK is written and directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (co-writers of The Descendants) and stars an amazing ensemble cast including Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, AnnaSophia Robb, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph and Liam James, Amanda Peet and Rob Corddry.

Way Way Back 2

THE WAY, WAY BACK is the funny and poignant coming of age story of 14-year-old Duncan’s (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter, Steph (Zoe Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in gregarious Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up to and begins to finally find his place in the world – all during a summer he will never forget.

  2. Mary Happymommy says

I much prefer the coming of age, “smaller” movie to the big bloated blockbuster summer movie. If this movie is anything like Little Miss Sunshine or Juno, then I’m definitely up for it!

By the way, the July -15 word isn’t posted yet, so I’m using the June 16-June 30 word. I hope that’s okay!

  3. Ellie W says

My daughter was really disappointed that the movie wasn’t opening our town this weekend, To make it worse, the theaters it IS showing in are all in towns we used to live in.

No, I’m not a summer blockbuster fan. Too much CGI – they’re all the same in my opinion. I like documentaries and foreign films. I know I’m a dork.
