Taste of Nature conducted a survey on how people snack. Here are the survey highlights:

*       98 percent of Americans snack, but nine in ten (85%) admit they find healthy snacking to be difficult.
*       73 percent say taste is the top consideration when making a snack choice
*       50 percent say that healthy snacking is so difficult because it is hard to find a healthy snack that tastes good.
*       On average, Americans who snack do it twice a day
*       42 percent of Americans feel they could commit to having one healthy snack every day
*       42 percent of snackers are most likely to have an unhealthy snack between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
*       41 percent of snackers are most likely to have an unhealthy snack on Saturdays.
*       43 percent of Americans have treated themselves to an unhealthy snack as a reward for an accomplishment.
*       23 percent have hidden their snacks from others so they wouldn’t have to share.

    sometimes I like something sweet, so yogurt works, other times I like to crunch on things, so I have almonds, and I too love hummus and veggies

    I love to snack on almonds and I also love eating sunflower seeds. The sunflower seeds takes a lot of work to get a lot of pleasure and I feel that since it takes up extra time to open them up, that is less time that I am putting something less healthy into my mouth.

    While I love candy bars, I’m working hard to replace them with a wholesome trail mix (small pack) instead! In the summer, I wander around my garden and ‘graze’ on fresh picked fruit! Yum!

    I love a nice homemade pound cake to snack on, the healthy things I snack on would be granola bars and fresh fruit.

    Chocolate is my bad snack! I love it! But it doesn’t agree with my thighs, so generally I reach for a homemade trail mix, some nuts, or celery with peanut butter!
