ABC TCA Winter 2014 Party

Get THE Screen Obsessed TV Buzz:

I’m going to “out” myself right up front: I haven’t watched ‘The Bachelor‘ in a long time. Yet even I’ve heard about just how unpopular the latest bachelor, Juan Pablo Galavis, has been. He gave his final rose to one lady, Nikki Ferrrell, but declined to actually pop the question. Juan Pablo and Nikki gave one interview, to People, explaining why.

You go on [The Bachelor] thinking if there is the connection, you propose. But I don’t feel there’s a need to propose to somebody if I don’t feel 100 percent. I didn’t know Nikki. I want to know more, a lot more.”

For her part, Nikki says she’s fine with that.

Had he gotten down on one knee, I absolutely would have said yes. But having a ring on my finger wouldn’t stop us from breaking up. What’s going to keep us together is having a real relationship. I’d rather have him propose when he feels it’s right.”

People also asked Juan Pablo about the very negative perceptions of him.

It’s hard because [viewers] saw a character on TV. At lot of things about me were not shown. I’m not a bad guy. People who know me, know who I am.”

Juan is refusing to do any further press for ‘The Bachelor’ besides this one interview. According to TMZ, Juan Pablo refused to appear on ‘Good Morning America,’ which is a typical stop after ‘The Bachelor’ concludes. TMZ also reports the producers are just fine with this: they don’t like Juan Pablo any more than the general public seems to. Rumor has it Juan Pablo is angry he wasn’t selected to compete on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ this season, and word has it the reason he wasn’t selected for that is because “he’s a complete jerk,” according to Hollywood Life. OUCH. I’ve gotta ask…
