Are you among the people still mourning the end of the ten-year marriage of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner? More information is coming out about what led to their split. Sources close to them say personality differences ended up causing issues in their marriage.
When they co-starred in ‘Daredevil’ in 2003, Ben was already an A-list movie star with an Oscar for ‘Good Will Hunting,’ while Jennifer was a rising TV star in ‘Alias.’ Ben had an unconventional childhood as a child actor while Jen had the “All-American” childhood, growing up in West Virginia. These different upbringings led to personality differences between them. A source said:
They are really two different people. Problems got bigger in their marriage after a few years.”
While Jen always wanted kids and a family, Ben was more focused on their career. The separations caused by his movie projects led to tension over time.
One source said:
Ben’s frequent absences didn’t work for this marriage.”
Another source added:
Ben is a good dad when he is around, but he has so many outside interests and personal issues to get beyond. It had become a bigger problem than either had imagined.”
Another source, however, said:
[Ben] was a good husband and loves and cares for his wife and family. He was juggling that as well as his career — everyone knows that juggling a family and career is hard.”
That’s true: juggling family and career is hard. I can see where people just have different ideas about how they want their lives to be, whether they are more focused on work or family. It’s too bad they couldn’t work it out, but you know, if something doesn’t work, then it just doesn’t work.
