There are going to be some changes next season on ‘The View’! It looks like one of the former co-hosts, Sherri Shepherd, might be returning to the show next season.
Rosie Perez already announced her departure. Yesterday ABC announced that Michelle Collins was joining ‘The View’ as one of the regular co-hosts next season. Sherri reportedly is in talks to join the show in some way next season. When asked about the possibility of Sherri returning, Michelle said:
Who wouldn’t be happier to sit next to Sherri Shepherd? She’s the funniest…I’ve never met her and would love to meet her and work with her.”
It looks like ‘The View’ wants to expand beyond just four regular co-hosts next season.
In addition to Sherri joining as some kind of contributor, Candice Cameron Bure and Stacy London are also said to be in talks to join ‘The View.’ It sounds like they would all be “contributors,” which I guess means they would have special pieces and perhaps fill in as co-hosts when needed? We’ll have to see.
Creator and executive producer Barbara Walters is happy that Michelle is joining the show.
Michelle Collins brings a fantastic energy and a keen sense of humor to the program. Michelle can be both outrageous and thoughtful. She is a welcome addition to The View panel with her intelligence, quick wit and vast knowledge of pop culture.”
I don’t know how involved Barbara is in the show at this point, but it sounds like they need her behind-the-scenes as much as she’s willing to do! ‘The View’ just hasn’t been quite the same since she left. What do you think of the idea of Sherri returning to ‘The View’?
