There’s no shortage of comic book superhero adaptations these days, both on the big screen and the small screen. Yet none of the lady comic book superheroes have taken center stage! That’s about to change this fall when CBS premiere’s ‘Supergirl.’ Former ‘Glee’ star Melissa Benoist stars in the lead role. She already got to share some of her Supergirl powers for the the #MySupergirl project.
Look at all these little girls with their capes on, ready to show off their super powers! They got the surprise of their lives when Melissa greeted them and spent some time chatting with them :). About 400 mothers and daughters got to see a sneak peek of ‘Supergirl’ at a screening last month. How did I not manage to find out about this?!
Melissa said afterwards:
I was beside myself. There was an electric energy in the air that day. It was pure excitement.”
She admitted she’s still trying to come to grips with becoming a role model to so many girls.
In some ways it has hit me, and in other ways it hasn’t. I am fully aware of how much Supergirl means to her fans and how much she has the ability to affect people for the better, but I’m not sure I am quite aware of how large that circle of affectation is – and I might not be until the show begins to air in the fall.”
Can Not Wait. The only thing I want to know is: WHY is CBS making us wait until October 26?! Well, I’ll be watching. For now, watch Melissa charm many young fans :).
