Dylan McKay just broke the hearts of Beverly Hills, 90210 fans around the world. Actor Luke Perry revealed this week that he’s over it and the show isn’t a part of his life anymore.
“[It’s like] third grade. How much does that matter to you right now? It’s just not relevant to anything I am doing anymore.” Ouch. It still matters, Luke, it still matters. I guess we can forget a reunion, right?
Lifetime is making the unauthorized biopic about the cast and the show and, needless to say, he won’t be watching that either. “I don’t even watch my own actual self on TV. Why would I watch [that]?”
Luke has been working on much more grown up projects for the UP channel and he shared that the theme of his new movie hits home for him. He’s producing and starring in “Welcome Home,” which features a writer who find a homeless family squatting in his house (and premieres in September).
Luke shared, “I had times in my life where I was housing-insecure and I didn’t have a place to stay and it was only through the generosity of other people that I was able to make it and to be OK. There were times where my mother was a single parent [with] three kids. It was never easy. I know what it is like to be worried like that and to be the kid in school that doesn’t have the nice clothes and the new shoes.”
