“Nannygate” is not going away for Ben Affleck anytime soon. Jennifer Garner covers the new issue of People with sources “close to her” saying that she regards his alleged affair with their nanny, Christine Ouzounian (which Ben still denies), as “the ultimate betrayal.”
Apparently Ben and Jen hadn’t made a final decision about ending their marriage when they went on their family vacation to the Bahamas. Christine was there too as a nanny. Jennifer reportedly found out about the affair while they were on the vacation, and that’s when she decided the marriage was over. A source close to her said of that time:
It was game time [when they went to the Bahamas]. Ben had already told her he hadn’t been committed to the marriage. They were trying to figure out what to do.
“There was always a speck of doubt in Jen’s mind about separating but that’s now gone [once she found out about the affair with Christine]. She is very angry. To Jen, this is the ultimate betrayal.”
Christine reportedly was “very caring and loving towards the kids,” but when Jennifer left LA to film ‘Nine Lives’ in Canada, she began spending more time with Ben and began “dressing a bit more inappropriately.” Things got so serious between them that, according to one of Christine’s friends:
[F]or Christine, it was a real relationship. They had even talked about plans for celebrating his upcoming [Aug. 15] birthday.”
Meanwhile, as far as Jennifer is concerned,
Ben has reached a new low.”
Yeah, that sounds about right. Yet she’s focusing on her kids (in these pictures she was spotted out with Seraphina and Samuel) and her shooting her new movie, ‘Miracles in Heaven.’ She even declined an offer to take a few days off.
It’s obvious that she’s having a terrible week, but it hasn’t affected filming.
“This is not anything she wanted as an outcome for her family or her marriage. But everyone is rallying around her.”
I’m glad Jen has people supporting her. This can NOT be easy. Ben, unsurprisingly, hasn’t been spotted since this whole scandal broke.
