Everyone is wondering what’s going on with Anna Duggar as she weathers yet another scandal involving her husband, Josh Duggar. This time, it’s not about something that happened when he was a teenager, either: he openly admitted to cheating on her after word got out that he had an account with the Ashley Madison website. Now insiders are saying her upbringing was actually more strict than the Duggars.
Anna was one of eight children in an evangelical Christian household. A source described her parents, Mike and Suzette Keller, this way:
Her parents are even a little more extreme [than the Duggars].”
Oh my goodness.
A source said:
Anna and her siblings were always taught that if you follow these 10 steps or whatever, God would bless you.”
They were discouraged from sharing their feelings, however. When Anna met Josh at a Christian conference in 2006, she wasn’t allowed to talk to her siblings about it.
That’s not something that’s shared amongst siblings. They always got 15-minute, one-on-one sessions with their mom every week. That was the time to share their feelings, but other than that they had to keep their feelings to themselves.”
OMG. Why? Where is that in the Bible?
Despite her upbringing, Anna was described as having “spunk.”
She’s really fun. She was always the bossy sister, but in a fun way. If she and her siblings were playing a game, she would make sure they were doing it exactly by the rules. They always had a good time together.”
Things changed once she married Josh, however. A source explained:
Ever since she met [the Duggars] she has acted more like Michelle. She talks like her, real soft. She, like, whispers.”
While some of Anna’s siblings have been openly encouraging her to leave- and one of her sisters is actually in the middle of a divorce herself- sources say her parents don’t know what to do.
I don’t think her parents ever thought they would ever come to a situation like this. They just don’t know what to do. They always taught their kids that divorce was never an option. They never even thought about cheating. But that’s not how life works.”
No, unfortunately, it isn’t how life works. It’s said that Anna is participating in counseling herself while Josh is at a long-term treatment center. I hope they’re both getting help from licensed professionals to deal with all of this.
