Colin Farrell went through a struggle that a lot of actors seem to deal with: he had to figure out how to quit smoking. We all know how tough it can be to quit, but he had a, well, interesting strategy.
So what did Colin do? He explained:
I wrote a breakup letter to the Spirit of Tobacco. I got a frying pan and tossed the letter with a load of tobacco, put some paraffin over it, and lit a match that sent a big, wallowing cloud up into the sky. Then I didn’t have a cigarette for another two years.”
Well, that’s one strategy- haha.
You probably wouldn’t want to try the same strategy to quit drinking, but for smoking, it was powerful for Colin. His strategy really seemed to be about mindset. It sounds like he basically made up his mind that he wasn’t smoking anymore, and he made a clear statement to that effect. I know that’s far easier said than done, but, hey, if it worked for Colin, then it can’t hurt for those people out there who are trying to quit…
