A consumer named Jonathan D. Rubin filed the lawsuit, alleging that the Honest Company “deceptively and misleadingly” labels its products with the claim that they are “natural.” He claims the products contain “unnatural” and “synthetic” ingredients and also alleges that the sunscreen is “ineffective.” The legal claim reads, in part:
Plaintiff Jonathan D. Rubin is bringing this lawsuit against Honest individually and on behalf of a nationwide class including all other similarly situated purchasers of the Products.”
Jonathan alleges that the Honest Hand Soap, Honest Diapers, and Honest Multi-Surface Cleaners are among the products that are misleading. The Honest Company does not appear to have responded to the accusations yet. When customers complained about the sunscreen being ineffective, they defended the product yet also seemed to make an effort to make things right with the customers, so I’m assuming they’ll be defending their products in this lawsuit.
