Selena Gomez is busy making the media rounds to promote her new movie, ‘Hotel Transylvania 2,’ as well as her new album, ‘Revival.’ The fact that Justin Bieber is preparing to do the same thing for his new album, which is scheduled to drop this fall, pretty much guarantees that Selena is going to be asked about him. So what does she think of her ex-boyfriend’s comeback?
While people were writing that I was stupid for being in [the relationship], this is what I always saw in him. I’m like, duh!”
What a classy way to both defend her own choices as well as be gracious about her ex!
Selena related her history with Justin to her new album, ‘Revival.’
It’s all part of my story. I’m growing and changing. I was in a relationship, and I was being managed by my parents, and I was still under Hollywood and Disney, and I was being held to this expectation of being the good girl.
“I knew deep down that this wasn’t what I wanted to do — being exhausted of forcing something that wasn’t right, even in my personal life. I had to have moments where I was crying and I was like, ‘Why am I not in love with what I do?’ I was forced to get very uncomfortable for a while in order to make the decisions I made.”
Selena was referring to her decision to change labels and management, which included jettisoning her mother as her manager. Talk about a grown-up move! She said:
I definitely remind myself that I’m in control. I feel like ultimately if I sit down and I think about a decision I need to make, it’s really within myself. I make the decision. Everything goes through me.”
That is a big part of what growing up is all about, isn’t it? She made it! In these pictures Selena was spotted at Annabel’s in London, where she gave an exclusive performance. I’m loving her gown. How about you?
