There’s no question that the summer of 2015 will probably go down as the Worst Summer Ever for the Duggar family as a whole, thanks to Josh Duggar. First it came out in May that he had sexually molested several girls, including some of his sisters, when he was a teenager, and then it came out that he had an account with the infidelity website Ashley Madison and had cheated on his wife, Anna Duggar. TLC canceled the Duggar’s hit TV show, ’19 Kids and Counting,’ which meant that Jessa Duggar Seewald didn’t get to share the excitement of her first pregnancy with their fans like Jill Duggar Dillard did. However, Jessa isn’t letting everything that happened get her down.
A source said that Jessa is staying positive and enjoying her first pregnancy.
Some people may have thought Jessa was wounded by the negative headlines, so it’s exciting to be able to show people that she is happier than ever and holding her head high.”
Good for Jessa! She certainly has nothing to be ashamed of. Her brother’s struggles aren’t her fault, and she isn’t responsible for how Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar handled the sexual molestation that occurred years ago.
It sounds like Jessa’s TLC special is going to show us just how well the first-time mom-to-be is doing. The source said:
Jessa is truly feeling so happy, healthy and centered. This is really one of the best times of her life. Her love for Ben is really something to see. They adore each other, and it’s clear that they’re soul mates. He treats her like a true queen.
“If there is any silver lining to the scandals, it’s that it only reinforced the strength Jessa has in her marriage, her family and, most of all, her faith.”
You know the saying: what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger. That definitely appears to be the case for Jessa! It’ll be interesting to see her TLC special. The first one is expected to air by the end of the year, so Jessa, who’s due in November, should have given birth by then.
I suspect the cancellation of ’19 Kids and Counting’ hit Jessa and husband Ben Seewald especially hard: he only just graduated from community college last spring, and given that they have a baby coming, they probably needed the income from the show. Not everyone should have to suffer for Josh’s mistakes!
