Blake Lively first told Vogue about her decision to close down her website, Preserve, after just one year. It sounds like the site never quite fulfilled the mission that Blake had in mind for it. Once the word came out, the actress-turned-entrepreneur turned to the Internet to talk directly to her fans.
Blake posted this message on Instagram:
Thank you guys for your support every step of the way in the @preserve_us adventure. I couldn’t be more grateful!! One day I’ll stop wearing so many hats ….but …I’ll probably be dead by then, so… 🎩💀👒☺️😉 I’m just doin’ what mama taught me 😉 She’s my idol. Who’s yours? 💖 💪👗💖#WhyIsThereNoEmojiForSpiceGirlsGirlPowerFingers ?!!!
I think it’s great that Blake tried something besides acting. We all know that most actors don’t have very long careers; it’s wise to use the platform you have while your career still has some heat to launch something else. And there’s no shame in Preserve not working out, either. Given Blake’s great attitude, I’m sure she’s going to learn from this experience come back with something even better. Can’t wait to see what it is!
