From what I can tell, Kim Zolciak never did have an easy time with the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ judges. Don’t expect that to change now! Carrie Ann Inaba spoke out about Kim’s petition to be allowed to rejoin ‘Dancing with the Stars’ after she was dropped from the show for being unable to perform on Monday night.
Although Kim’s doctors cleared her to dance- and she taped a dance rehearsal with partner Tony Dovolani– they advised against her flying out to LA to appear on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ during the live show Monday night. The rules apparently state that if a contestant cannot dance live for health reasons, they are automatically dropped from the competition, although an exception was made for Melissa Rycroft during the fifteenth season (a rehearsal video was used instead). Now Kim has started a petition to be allowed to rejoin the dance competition.
Carrie Ann isn’t a fan of the idea.
Well, I’ve always loved somebody who doesn’t give up, okay? I think that that’s a wonderful spirit to have. You should never give up. However, I also like rules, and our rules say that she has to be out. I think that it would be unfair for the other competitors if she came back because she did not compete, and it’s like she got a week to rest.”
Apparently the week off to rest (even though Kim danced with Tony on Saturday) means a lot, at least to Carrie Ann.
Our show is tough, so having a week to rest could make a huge difference in the future for competitions. So, I kind of think that it’s okay the way it is and I wish her well, though, and I’m very glad to hear that she’s doing well health-wise.”
It sounds like no one asked the judge the big question: why does the week off matter for Kim but not for Melissa in season 15? Something tells me Kim’s petition is going to be unsuccessful, however, if Carrie Ann’s comments are any indication of how the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ producers are thinking.
