Rihanna was honored by T Magazine as one of “The Greats.” Yet she shared during her interview that success doesn’t necessarily bring a feeling of security, at least, not for her. It’s taken some effort for her to truly appreciate her success.
Only now are things hitting me, like I’m feeling them emotionally. I used to feel unsafe right in the moment of an accomplishment — I felt the ground fall from under my feet because this could be the end. And even now, while everyone is celebrating, I’m on to the next thing. I don’t want to get lost in this big cushion of success.”
You know, something tells me Rihanna’s experience isn’t all that unusual. Huge success, like what she’s enjoyed, can be tough to handle.
She posted her cover on Instagram:
Rihanna also added some of the photos from her photo shoot:

She said that she herself posts all her photos on Instagram.
Yeah, [I post the photos]. That’s the only way it’ll actually work! My fans can sniff the BS from very far away. I cannot trick them.”
Her account was actually banned at one point for posting photos that were too racy; I think she’s calmed down, but Rihanna still likes to push the limit, I’m sure ;). She also said that this was not the time in her life to cultivate a romantic relationship.
Guys need attention. They need that nourishment, that little stroke of the ego that gets them by every now and then. I’ll give it to my family, I’ll give it to my work — but I will not give it to a man right now.”
Well, there’s no rush for Rihanna to settle down. She should take this time to truly appreciate her own success!
