Yes, it’s really happening: the Duggars (a couple of them, at least) are returning to TLC. Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald are doing a TLC special called ‘Jill & Jessa Duggar: Counting On.’ Get your first look at the video after the break!
This sneak peek features Jill and Jessa talking about what happened to the Duggar family after it was discovered that Josh Duggar had sexually abused several girls, including some of his sisters, when a teenager. Jessa said:
Here I am, most joyful time of my life, you know: newly married, baby on the way, and then…”
The whole world was shocked. You’re angry and hurt and all those emotions all mixed together.”
It can’t have been easy for them. Jill and Jessa came forward as two of Josh’s victims, but they also defended their brother, which is why, I suspect, there hasn’t been as much sympathy for them as would be expected. Jessa, however, seemed to change course a bit- at least, her in-laws certainly did, once Josh admitted to cheating on his wife, Anna Duggar. It sounds like people no longer looked at Josh’s behavior as youthful mistakes anymore.
It sounds like they were as shocked as the rest of the Duggars over the cancellation of their highly-rated reality TV show. There was talk, even before TLC canceled ’19 Kids and Counting,’ that the focus of the show might shift to Jill and Jessa. I guess they decided to start over “fresh” with a new show altogether. The question is: are you interested in tuning in? Check out our first look at Jill and Jessa’s special below.
