Khloe Kardashian released a public statement about Lamar Odom on her paid website after they arrived back in LA at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Despite Lamar’s improvement, people warn he’s still got a long way to go.
Khloe said on her website:
The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!”
Given how dire Lamar’s prognosis was when he was first hospitalized, her sentiments are understandable!
However, Lamar still isn’t out of the woods. A source explained:
He’s still really, really sick. There are a million things they’re doing to him still. He’s not doing well. He’s talking a little bit, but not full sentences.”
Although most of his organs that were failing are recovering, his kidneys reportedly are not, necessitating six hours of dialysis a day. He may need a kidney transplant later. Doctors also reportedly are going to do more neurological assessments to try to determine the extent of brain damage from the strokes he suffered.
It does sound like Lamar has a long road ahead of him. However, he’s lucky to be alive. Hopefully he’s willing to hear this wake-up call and turn his life around.
