When asked if he would be 007 again after his current movie, ‘Spectre,’ Daniel said:
No – this is what’s going on at the moment. I’m enjoying this.”
By “this” I think he meant promote ‘Spectre.’ However, Daniel did say that he enjoyed being 007 and even enjoyed being a producer on ‘Spectre.’
I knew when I accepted the role that it would turn my life upside down, and it did. There’s no getting away from it. I’m still enjoying it much more than I ever did because I’ve been allowed to bring what I know to the role. I’ve been involved with every aspect of filmmaking.”
That’s a bit of a change from “I’d rather slit my wrists” than play James Bond again, isn’t it- LOL?
Daniel was also asked if he had any thoughts on who should portray 007 next if not him. He replied:
I don’t care. It’s just as long as they’re good. That’s the only thing that matters.”
Daniel said he did hope the person appreciated the opportunity to play the iconic role.
When it stops for me – I’ve been blessed to be able to do it for 10 years. It’s a real opportunity, it’s a huge thing.”
That’s true! I wonder if Daniel was just having a bad day when he did his earlier interview?
