Kate Middleton and Prince William, along with Prince Harry, had another joint royal engagement last night: they attended the UK premiere of ‘Spectre,’ the latest James Bond movie! Of course all eyes were on Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, on the red carpet. What do you think of her frock?
Here’s a picture of the royal trio at the premiere:
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry attend the Royal Film Performance 2015 – the World Premiere of the 24th James Bond adventure SPECTRE. The Royal Film Performance is held annually in aid of the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund, and this year Shelterbox and Save the Children, two charities nominated by Their Royal Highnesses, will also benefit.
You know I’ve gotta spend some time on the Duchess’s gown, which was designed by one of her favorite designers, Jenny Peckham. It’s backless, but unfortunately, none of these photos reveals that. USA Today wrote:
It was a little bit daring: See-through, open back, no bra. But it didn’t seem to fit right; the wrap-style top seemed too loose for her non-Kardashian-style torso. And it was a boring, washed-out blue. Her hair was pulled up in an elaborate up-do that seemed a little…old for her (she’s 33). We feel guilty criticizing but we didn’t love it.
The fit on the top did seem like it could have been a bit better, but overall, I still think Kate looks fantastic. Sometimes I feel like she can’t win for losing: if she got more risque, there would be criticism, and yet she’s criticized for being too conservative. What can she do? I’m a fan. How about you?
