Christina Aguilera looked amazing on the red carpet at Verizon’s HopeLine campaign to promote awareness for domestic violence. ‘The Voice’ mentor, who’s taking the current season off, spoke out about the blossoming romance between two other mentors on ‘The Voice’: Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton.
I’ve known Gwen for a really long time. We went to each others’ kids birthday parties, we share the same management, and Blake I know now from the show.
“The two of them are both great people. Gwen’s such a great mother and a hard-working mother too! It’s not easy to juggle The Voice and music and children — it takes a strong woman. And obviously I’m always in support of that. And I do know what it’s like to go through a divorce myself, and it’s tough!
“I keep telling them both to stay strong and have fun! Divorce and life is hard enough! If you find someone who makes you happy, you gotta go for it. So they deserve it and they deserve to be happy!”
Christina knows what she’s talking about: she went through her own divorce when she split from Jordan Bratman in 2010.
Christina also talked about why she supported the HopeLine event, and it turns out she has a very personal reason for wanting to promote domestic violence awareness.
It’s a subject that really hits home with me because I’ve always been pretty vocal and open about my own experiences in witnessing domestic violence in the home and neighboring homes around me, so it was something that was pretty constant in my younger upbringing. That’s why for me, it’s so important for me to speak my truth and helping others to find theirs and to find their own hope in a hopeless situation.”
It’s great that she’s supporting such an important cause!
