Jennifer Lawrence isn’t the only A-lister who’s preparing to wrap the franchise that launched her to the top of the heap in Hollywood. Shailene Woodley won’t be far behind her. Thankfully, the studio did NOT decide to divide the final book in ‘The Divergent Series,’ ‘Allegiant,’ into two movies, so it will hit the big screens on March 18, 2016 in the US. Get a sneak peek at the movie after the break!
If you haven’t read the ‘Divergent’ trilogy, then the third book is a quite a, well, surprise. Here’s the “official description” of the final film:
After the earth-shattering revelations of INSURGENT, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
I have to admit, I’m REALLY curious to see the ending to this film. I won’t spoil what happened for those of you who haven’t read the book, but suffice it to say it was not the ending we typically get in Hollywood stories. A lot of people who read the book were NOT happy. At all.
Was the studio faithful to the book or did they find a way to give an ending that was more expected, even if it differed from the book, like ‘Breaking Dawn’ did? We’ll see next spring… For now, we just have to content ourselves with a new trailer ;).
