Chris Hemsworth plays a superhero on the big screen as Thor, one of the Avengers, but he can’t stop being a superhero once the camera turns off: he’s the father of three kids with wife Elsa Pataky. They have daughter India Rose, who is three years old, and twins Tristan and Sasha, who are 19 months old.
It feels like I have six. They’re non-stop, active kids. The biggest thing I’ve learned by having kids is that now I know what love is. I know what frustration is. I know the full gamut of emotions, good and bad. I feel I had just scratched the surface prior.”
That’s SO true ;). Given their ages, I can see where that’s even more true!
Chris joked about family additions:
Each time you add one, it feels like three more.”
Yeah, each kid isn’t just a new family member: it’s like the pressures compound and multiply- LOL. The ‘Thor’ star explained why he decided to keep his family out of the spotlight by being based in Byron Bay, Australia rather than LA.
We have a very normal existence. Here, if someone recognizes you, it doesn’t tend to be as big a deal. People are like, ‘Oh yeah, cool,’ then onward with the day. If you are living in Hollywood, people have traveled from around the world to see people in the entertainment business and they’ve got the cameras ready and a bigger deal is made of it. Here, we have a very normal existence, people are very respectful, and that was why we chose to come here.”
It’s great that Chris and Elsa have found a way to maintain their careers yet still give their kids a regular childhood.
